Tammy Rimes, MPA

Tammy Rimes is the Principal of Tammy Rimes Consulting, and Executive Director of the National Cooperative Procurement Partners (NCPP), the premier Association for educational content, legislative advocacy, and support for cooperative procurement.  She also formally served as Purchasing Agent for the City of San Diego, the 9th largest city in the nation, and Emergency Logistics Chief during the 2007 Witch Creek Fires that raged for 17 days and destroyed over 2000 homes. Under her leadership, the City consolidated its warehouse operations, centralized all purchasing and contracting operations, and moved to a more customer-focused approach. With past sales and marking experience in the airline, retail, electrical utility, and wine industry, she has the unique perspective of working in three different worlds – corporate, government, and entrepreneurial.

Outside of the Box with Cooperative Procurement

Many agencies have been using cooperative contracts for basic commodities and services for years. The cooperative world is changing - do you know the latest that is out there?  During this exclusive session, discover how partnering with a company through a cooperative contract can provide so much more than just the ordered product.  Former Purchasing Agent and Executive Director of NCPP, Tammy Rimes will share to meet the following objectives:

  • Gain insights into using cooperative contracts when federal dollars are involved
  • Discover value-added services to attain diversity contracting and sustainability goals
  • Rebates, special features, and consulting services - do you know about these features
  • How to handle supply chain issues and changes in contracts to be more comprehensive
  • Learn "outside of the box" ideas for using a cooperative through other agency success stories
  • What is on the horizon for the development of new services and products to serve government teams

Please note that suppliers and non-governmental entities are not eligible for MN NIGP membership and some resources may only be available to MN NIGP members.
